Utilizing Property Templates to Streamline Application Development

When developing applications, it is crucial to maintain consistency and organization throughout your project. One way to achieve this is by utilizing property templates, which are pre-existing structures that help create and manage properties for various objects.
In this article, we will discuss how property templates can be used to standardize the structure of multiple applications within an organization and guide you through creating your own property template.
Accessing the Property Template Tab
To begin creating property templates, you must access the workspace settings from your application’s homepage.
Under the workspace settings, locate and click on the property template tab.
This will open the property template page, where you can view and create new templates.
Creating a New Property Template
Click the “New Property Template” button from the property template page.
This will open the “Create Property Template” form, where you can define the properties of your new template.
Defining the Property Template
First, enter a name for your property template in the “Name” field. Next, you’ll need to select a suitable property type. Click the dropdown button to view available property types and choose one that best fits your requirements.
If unsure about the different property types, click the “Tell me more” link.
The system will display all property types, allowing you to select one directly by clicking the “Select” button.
Then, the chosen property type will appear in the create property form. Additionally, you can describe the property template to help guide users when they are using your template.
Saving the Property Template
Once you’ve filled out the required information, click the “Create” button to save your new property template.

Note: If you need to create multiple properties simultaneously, click the “Create and New” button instead. This will enable you to add all your properties in a single go.

Property templates are essential tools in application development, as they help maintain consistency and organization within your projects. By following the steps outlined in this article, you and your team can create custom property templates to streamline your application development process and standardize the structure of applications throughout your organization.
